Supporting our Community

Big picture

Dear Families:

What a year this week has been.

We've played BINGO (pictured above), had a virtual spirit week, baked cookies, did art projects, read stories, had morning announcements with Mrs. Bialeski and Mr. West, met with friends and teachers by grade AND even took a quiet moment to talk to other adults during Happy Hour.

We did all of this together -- separately. As a community -- socially distanced. I'm proud of us and I hope you are too.

Today, we've got our third round of grade-level meet-ups (details below)!

This Sunday, Live! Bush Park Bakes, Sunday, March 29th, 4-5pm we'll be baking muffins with Mrs. Shoemaker.

Did you miss our first BINGO? No problem! We're going host Live! Family BINGO again, on Tuesday, March 31st, 6:30-7:30pm.

You're invited to our Live! PTA General Meeting & Happy Hour on Thursday, April 2nd, 7-8:30pm. No beer pong.

Please stay connected with the PTA on Facebook, MemberHub and our Website.

On behalf of our leadership team, we wish you all good health and patience.

Best Regards,

Randee

Bushy Park Family Food Need Fund

Since asking in last week's email, we've had food assistance requests from the Bushy Park Family. In response, the PTA has started the Bushy Park Food Need Fund. These funds will be used to directly and confidentially help our Bushy Park Family who've expressed a need for food assistance.

If your family is in need of food, please email me confidentially at bpesptapres@gmail.com. We are in this together and will be supporting our community.

Community Action Council of Howard County

As the designated anti-poverty organization in Howard County, the Community Action Council of Howard County is the “go to” organization for our most vulnerable community members.

Donations: They are already seeing an increased demand for services, particularly at the Howard County Food Bank. They will be delivering a one-week supply to more than 320 Head Start families. This would not be possible without the generosity of our community. To ensure the health and safety of our clients and staff, they ask that those interested in supporting their programs donate online, rather than bringing food or funds directly to their office or to the Howard County Food Bank.

March Membership Drawing

"Salam Alaikum means 'Peace be upon you.' It is the greeting that Muslims around the world use to say 'hello' and 'good-bye.' International music sensation Harris J has taken that greeting and created a call to action.

Spread peace on the earth...
Treasure the love, let it surround us
Always be kind, always remind one another
Peace on the earth every day

Using the lyrics to the hit song of the same name, and accompanied by heartwarming illustrations that depict the power of paying it forward, this sweet and charming picture book celebrates kindness and community." B&N Overview

The PTA will be doing a drawing from all family memberships at the end of March for Salam Alaikum: A Message of Peace, by Harris J and Ward Jenkins.
