Counselor's Corner
Next week I will do lessons on teamwork during PE. We will discuss the importance of working together for a common goal and what we can do to help each other here at Oakwood.
Rocco's Corner
For the first time since I have been in the bus loop for dismissal, yesterday we were able call "all buses" at 4:00. Ms. Chambers has been the constant for years beyond me and this year we have added another constant with Ms. Gregory. The number of buses have declined over the years and the number of students we transport by bus has declined by hundreds. I hope to maintain early ends to Success classes at daily dismissals. I thank everyone for their work at their duty posts, our progress has been tremendous. I know how hard we work to achieve this each and every day. Thank you.

Google Drive
More and more of us are using Google Drive which is great,
but it does require us to shift the way we think about our files.
One of the most helpful things we can do is to think about
how to organize our Drive.
Here are a few hints:
1. Folder structure comes first
2. Add some color
3. Standardize your naming conventions
4. Shared with you, organized by you
5. Add a number to the front of folders you use the most often- they will appear at the top

Part 2 This is a continuation from last week’s “aha’s” from this article....
http://www.theleaderinmeblog.org/involve-students-in-goal-setting-four-empowering-questions/
“In order to empower students to set their own goals, we must teach them to ask and help them answer the similar types of reflective questions.
What are the four empowering questions for students?
1. Where am I trying to go?
2. Where am I now?
3. How do I close my learning gap?
4. How do I challenge myself?”
What would our classrooms be like if all of our students owned their own learning? I think it would make learning fun for us and them!
Math Olympiad starts tomorrow and includes the following students during Success A, B or D: https://docs.google.com/a/csisd.org/document/d/1bj-IW1EULvf4vUnseSNQt8e9TSWVA0PBozD5YUmsN7Y/edit?usp=sharing

Remember that students will report directly to Success tomorrow. Please refer to the email again for all of the details.
Reiterate to your students our expectations. Be strategic with who sits next to you and where you position yourself in the crowd.
