Return to Learn: Blended Experience

We are continuing to work hard to make sure the building is ready for students to return for in-person instruction. Floors are marked, furniture has been moved to maintain social distancing and spots are marked on the exterior as well.

We welcomed our first graders back into the halls of Freeman this past week during the afternoons and in preparations for Pre-K and Kindergarten students to return the week of November 16th.

As students start returning, please note a couple things: we will not be opening car doors for students so we ask that they practice opening the door from inside the vehicle as well as pushing it closed (fingers away from edge). Also, for the car line, please remain in your vehicle the entire time, if possible. Once more families return, the traffic does flow pretty regularly.

As we want everyone to feel safe and understand updated procedures, we have created videos for what you can expect as we bring students back. We encourage you to watch these with your students if they are returning to school for in-person instruction. Some of this communication is grade level specific and will be updated as each group phases back into the building. We will send out a separate newsletter geared towards re-entry specific information for each grade level.

District communication has also been updated on the district website. Please continue to check SD129's Blended Experience Webpage for up to date information and current guidance.

SD129 Student Health Screener

If your child will be returning for in-person instruction, please make sure you have created an account for health screenings. Please see below for more detailed information.

Due to COVID-19 state and local guidelines, a student symptom check will be required before your student is permitted to attend class in one of our school buildings. Instructions to create your account and add your students to your profile is included in the video and infographic linked below.

Please follow this link to create your account.

The same account set up will also be sent to your primary phone number listed for SMS messages. Account set-up is easy, but for assistance please contact Mrs. Andrea Delgado via email at Thank you for your cooperation in creating your account. Additional information about certifying your student(s) will be provided at a later date.

Please use the link to create your student symptom screening account. Additional instructions have been emailed to you.

Specials Update for Quarter 2

Asynchronous Instruction

Starting Monday, November 2nd, all specials teachers will be sending out their asynchronous lessons weekly on Monday mornings. Students will have time throughout the week to complete these assignments and specials teachers will be communicating this when they see each class during the week.

Live/ Synchronous Instruction

Live specials times will remain the same until your child's assigned grade level returns to in person instruction. When your child's grade level returns, specials will move to 20 minute in person lessons in the afternoon. Virtual learners will receive synchronous instruction in the afternoons on Fridays.
