Westwood Families,
Spring Break is nearly here. Reminder that there is no school Friday, March 12 through Monday, March 22. Students resume learning on Tuesday, March 23.
For any family who requested a learning model change for trimester 3 last week, you should have heard from us by the end of today, Wednesday, March 10. Classroom teachers will reach out to parents and students on Friday of this week to welcome you to their classrooms.
We are excited to have all of our grade 7 and 8 school learners back in the building on March 23. Students should check Campus Portal for their first period class. When arriving at school students can go directly to their class. We will be running the following schedules for grades 7 and 8:
Face masks are required and even more important when students return to learning five days a week at school. Masks MUST be worn over the mouth AND nose at all times when students aren’t eating. See tips from our lead nurse in the "Need to Know" section of this newsletter.
Students in Extended Flexible Learning or who have requested it for trimester 3 will continue to have four days a week of “live” (synchronous) learning and primarily “on-demand/independent” (asynchronous) learning on Wednesdays. Teachers will reach out to your student on their schedules and live sessions.
Report cards will be ready in Campus Parent Portal the week of March 23. Students who are at school learners will have report cards sent home with students on Friday, March 26.
Please continue to follow health and safety precautions over the break to help us keep our classrooms open for learning. Have a safe and restful week. We will see you on Tuesday, March 23. Enjoy your Spring Break.
Sincerely,
Tom Larson
Principal

Importance of safe mask wearing
Face mask tips from Becca Williams, SLP Lead Health Nurse
- Face masks/coverings should comfortably cover the nose, mouth and chin
- There should be no gaps on the sides of the face mask
- Face masks should stay in place without needing to be adjusted frequently
- As we head into muddy Minnesota spring, it is a good idea to pack an extra face mask
For more information on how to properly wear a mask, check out this helpful one-page document.
