Timberwolf Trot & High Interest Day!
What an absolutely perfect day! Seeing our entire school community come together to plan this event and share in the excitement all day is amazing. Our students had the opportunity to meet and experience a variety of different activities that they will not soon forget. I have no doubt that this day is something they will remember for a very long time. There are so many people to thank and we'll make sure to formally thank everyone who helped make this event happen, but it was overwhelming to see so many people come together for our students and school. I hope you spend some time with your child(ren) this weekend asking them what they most enjoyed about the event to learn how much this day meant to them.
There is still time to donate. Make sure that you have signed up online to collect pledges! Go to www.thegetmovincrew.com and click on “Get Registered”. Select Washington Elementary for the school and follow the steps. Once you are registered, be sure to share your personal fundraising page via email and social media!
We surpassed our school goal, which means I will be planning on sleeping on the roof in the near future. Next week, I'll share the date and a list of other staff members who agreed to join me on the roof.
We would like to make a shout out to thank the local businesses who generously donated to our pack of Timberwolves. To all of our parents, volunteers, teachers and PTA - WOW!! Tosa Pediatrics has been involved with this fundraiser since it began. They've provided monetary sponsorship for all five runs. I'd also like to thank BeSpectacled who had a record turn around to our sponsorship request-less than one hour- WOW! New this year, is Firefly Realty. They love Tosa schools and it shows. Thank you to our sponsors. Look for links to these businesses on our website: thegetmovincrew.com.
Teacher Appreciation Week - May 1st through forever!
Please help me celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week next week. I continue to be humbled and honored to work with such a dedicated and caring staff. To share in this special week and celebrate our teachers, our PTA has a variety of treats lined up for staff, including a luncheon, smoothie bar, breakfast drink cart and much more. I’m also asking all families to spend some time in sharing a quick message or thank you to our staff. There is nothing more uplifting and inspirational than a simple thank you.
Teachers plant the seeds of KNOWLEDGE that grow forever
Your child(ren) should have brought home the following: letter and template of apples The apples are for your family to write a simple thank you, compliment and/or heartfelt message for any of our staff members. You may fill out as many as you’d like.
Then, just cut them out and return them to school with your child(ren). We’ll be hanging these outside the office for our staff and community to see. Children and parents are encouraged to write messages!
Please return the messages to the office by Monday, May 8th so they can be shared with staff and put up on display for all to read.
