Note from the Principal
Dear Hazeldale Families,
One of my favorite days of the year is on Friday! Hustle for Hazeldale! I love seeing all our kids in their matching shirts running, walking, smiling, huffing and puffing as we run for Hazeldale. Below you will see the run times and more about our hopes for the money it raises to benefit the students of Hazeldale. It is our hope that you all have submitted an application to become a volunteer so that your background check has been cleared. If you aren't a cleared volunteer, guests will need to stay in a designated area to be a spectator. It is much more fun to join in on marking tally marks on the student bibs and give them high fives as they run by. So please take a couple moments to just get that application in so you can join the fun.
This Friday Hazeldale is also showing we CARE by going gold. Wear gold in efforts to raise awareness for Pediatric Cancer on Friday, September 27th (until kids change into their fun run shirt!). A former Hazeldale student wrote to me asking if our school would participate—and it really fit with our focus on the Learner Profile of Caring for the month of October.
Caring: We show empathy, compassion and respect. We have a commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us.
The Student Success Act needs your input—Speak Up for Student Success
Our October 14th PTO Meeting, 6:30-8 pm, will give you opportunity for discussion and input. We will also have a Spanish translator available at this meeting. For more information and the survey, please visit the Student Success Act webpage.
Looking forward to running for Hazeldale with all our students on Friday!
Hustle for Hazeldale—PTO Fun Run!
Each class has 20 minutes to run and needs to stop each lap at their class table for tally marks on their race bibs. Remember to sign up via the online volunteer management system for volunteering.
