GRADE 4 FAMILIES - SURVEY DEADLINE EXTENDED
Alberta Education Accountability Pillar Survey for Grade 4 Families
Please help! Unfortunately the response to this survey is below what is expected and needed to give valuable feedback on our programming. Therefore the Accountability Pillar Survey deadline has been extended until March 6, 2020.
Online survey URL: https://public.education.alberta.ca/apos/
Each family should have received a personalized custom email with the survey link and a Random Access Code specifically for you. Please check your Spam folder in case your message was directed there. Reminder emails will be sent if your survey has not been completed.
The information contained in this survey is used to help drive OLA's Assurance Plans. It helps us understand areas to celebrate as well opportunities for further learning and growing.
As partners is your child's learning, your voice is important.

Please contact us at the school if you have any questions about the links above or the Accountability Survey. Again, we appreciate your time and patience with "survey season!"
Notes and Nachos Coming Soon!
A Fundraising Event for Valeda House
The Servant Leadership Squad (SLS) Wellness Team of 11 Grade 4 students will be offering a fundraising opportunity for Valeda House. Valeda House, run through Catholic Social Services, is a service that is supported by all of EICS.
OLA's SLS Wellness Team will be serving up a plate of nachos and cheese and while students eat their nachos, a positive and empowering note will be revealed on the plate! Plates will be the size of dessert plates, and children will purchase them for $2/plate. They can purchase as many plates of nachos as they like!
The date for the Notes and Nachos Fundraising Event will be announced soon.
The Wellness Team needs some time to write the messages and grate the cheese!
Share Your Passion!
We are calling on parents to offer a session to children sharing their passions in the form of Power Options. Want to teach children how to crochet as a way to be peaceful? Want to share your knowledge for engineering and how to construct safe structures? Love chemistry and mixing different liquids together? Do you love spreading joy, and want to make a small craft to deliver to the neighbourhood around OLA? These are just a few ideas of how you can share your passions, knowledge and talents to OLA children!
We are inviting parents to offer a One-Hour Power Option workshop from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Wednesday April 8 and a repeat session on May 6 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
If you are interested in offering a workshop, please contact Mme Gravelle at pamgr@eics.ab.ca before March 23 . Even if you have a passion that you'd love to share, and just don't know how, please contact Mme Gravelle to discuss the possibilities!
OLA's Learning Commons Project
Children are starting to see the space change and donations arrive.
They are getting excited about their new learning space for growing brains!
Thank you for continuing to bring this exciting project to life!
Thank you to many of our parents who have already donated items (lego, bins, dog beds) and who are supporting the Learning Commons (Phase I) and Makerspaces (Phase I) Project. Thank you too to our many parents who have come to chat about ways they can help! We are so grateful for your support! Thank you to Nikki Desaulniers and Lorienna Scouten for volunteering to help with gathering donations and helping with thrifty shopping!
Family donations and Coorporate donations are welcome and we are so grateful for all donations! EICS has a charitable donation number for your tax benefit! If you or your company would like to donate, we have a donation letter ready for you. Please contact our amazing secretary, Mrs. Buban through ola@eics.ab.ca or by calling her at 998-3716 and she will gladly share the letter with you. Thank you for continuing to support this very exciting project!
The statement above is the lens we will be working through, and it will guide our path moving forward. If you have any questions, feel free to connect with a member of the OLA Learning Commons Committee: Mrs. Earle, Mrs. Weller, Mrs. Kowal, Mme Gravelle, and Mrs. Merrick or by emailing ola@eics.ab.ca
Thank you SO much for supporting this initiative!
It will engage the minds of all OLA children in all of the Competencies!
