Clara Love Family Newsletter
November 3, 2021
Calling all veterans! We are excited to host a ceremonial parade and celebration for Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11, at 8:00 am here at Clara Love. If your family (or friends or neighbors) includes a veteran, we would love to honor them at our celebration. Veterans are asked to arrive at 7:40 am on 11/11 to get lined up for the parade. The veteran will parade through our Clara Love halls with their Lil’ Texan(s) as information is shared about their service. At the conclusion of the parade, veterans are invited to a small reception. The event is expected to end by 9:00 am.
To have your veteran participate, please complete the Google Form found here by 11/5. If your veteran is unable to attend in-person, we ask that you still complete the form so we can recognize them on a bulletin board. We thank all veterans for their service!

Reminder that NISD’s Holiday Assistance Program, Angel Tree, registration closes this Thursday, 11/4/21, at 12:00pm. Once the registration closes, we will be unable to add any other students, so please be sure to complete the application before the deadline. The original email would have gone out on 10/18/21 with the link, but if you are unable to locate it, please reach out to agarrett@nisdtx.org or alexa.terry@nisdtx.org. Please do not share the link with anyone else. If you have any questions about the application, please let us know.

Reindeer Romp
Registration is now open for Northwest ISD’s annual Reindeer Romp! The event consists of a 1-mile fun run and 5K run, with all proceeds benefiting school P.E. departments.
Attendance Matters
We’re continuing to see significant progress in the decrease of COVID cases in Northwest ISD and our campus! In light of this positive news, we’d like to remind you of the importance of regular attendance as we experience a more normal school year.
Being at school is the best environment for a child to keep pace with the academic schedule and ensure learning takes place. All students should achieve academic standards at or above the current grade level by the end of the school year, and regular attendance is the best way to accomplish that goal.
If your child is sick, please keep him or her at home! But healthy students should be at school. If your child has COVID, please be aware a doctor’s note is needed for any absences beyond 10 calendar days. For any students in this category, please keep our school updated so we can provide your child with appropriate academic materials in their absence.
Clara Love is Open for Visitors

Lunch Visitors Sign-Up
We are thrilled to welcome visitors for lunch beginning October 18th. Due to continued COVID protocols and social distancing, we are limiting visitors to 5 outside guests per lunch period.
Please plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to your child's lunch period. All visitors must sign up in advance (link here) and will need to check in with the office using their valid driver's license or government issued ID. We are limiting 2 visitors per student and each visitor must sign up separately. We are not allowed to have non-school aged children visit with you.
There will be assigned tables for guests to have lunch with their child. Only you and your child will be able eat at the gust tables. No friends allowed.
When students line up after lunch, you will need to exit through the office. For safety and security reasons, family guests cannot follow students to class or the playground.
