In-Person MAP Testing Begins in May
As a result of MAP testing there will be no early dismissals or late starts for students. EleMiddle and Early Learning Center students will have a full day of class on Fridays. High School students will login in or report to their first class on Mondays at 8:30 a.m.
Who's Your Favorite Teacher? Share the Love for Teacher Appreciation Week
We're asking students to submit a brief (30-60 seconds) video sharing who their favorite teacher is and why. The Normandy Communications department will compile the submissions into one video and share it on social media. (Videos containing inappropriate language, behavior or attire will not be considered.) Submit your video, along with your name, grade and school, to info@normandysc.org.
Deadline for submissions is Monday, April 26. Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7, 2021.
No Early Dismissals, No HS Late Starts in May
Due to MAP testing next month, there will be no Friday early dismissals or late start dates for students in May. Schools will remind students and families as we get closer to these dates.
There will be early dismissal for the EleMiddle schools and Early Learning Center on Friday, April 23. For the specific dismissal time, please check the NSC website calendar.
There will be a late start for the high school on Monday, April 26. High school students will login for their first class at 10:25 a.m.
Normandy Teacher Recruitment Fair May 1
NSC will hold a Teacher Recruitment Fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 1 at Barack Obama School, 3883 Jennings Sta. Road. Business professional dress is strongly recommended.
Normandy is seeking dedicated and qualified educators for a variety of positions. The district offers a competitive pay and benefits package.

Free Summer School Enrollment Now Open
Enrollment is now open for the Normandy Summer Journey Summer School program. Classes will be held for students in grades 1-8 at Lucas Crossing, and rising kindergarten students will attend at the Normandy Early Learning Center. The program runs from June 9 to July 9. The program offers free transportation to and from school in addition to providing free breakfast and lunch. Summer Journey is free to families! Registration for Summer School must be completed by May 15, 2021.

Assistant Superintendent Offers Tips for Masks & Social Distancing
COVID diagnoses are going the right way -- down -- and we want to do our part to help ensure that trend continues!
In our second Be Safe! Be Healthy! Be #NormandyStrong! COVID health and safety campaign video, Dr. George Barnes, assistant superintendent for elementary education shares tips for wearing a mask and social distancing. As part of our campaign, the Communications department produced videos featuring teachers and staff, sharing tips for keeping COVID at bay.
Working together we can help get back to normal and get all students back in the buildings.

Grab & Go Meal Pickup; Friday Food Box Giveaway at High School
The Normandy Grab & Go Meal program is available at Washington School and Normandy Early Learning Center only.
Families can pick up the free meals from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Families can also pick up food at the Friday Food Box Giveaway at Normandy High School, 6701 St. Charles Rock Road, 4 to 6 p.m. Boxes are available to all Normandy staff and families.
