Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival and Dismissal:
We have over 100 cars in the car rider line up each day. We know that many are frustrated with the wait time, but our procedures are in place because we need to keep all students safe. To guarantee safety, car riders must be picked up and dropped off from a car in the car rider line every day. We will not allow adults to walk up to the building and grab students from the car rider line. We encourage families to consider Harford County Public Schools transportation as a possible option for transportation.
Drop Off:
To decrease the wait time and help move cars through the line faster during drop off:
- Have your child ready to go when you pull up to the building
- Students need to have their mask on before you stop the car
- Students need their backpack and lunch box in their lap.
We ask that parents do not get out of the car.
- If your child requires assistance or you need to get out of the car for anything, please pull into one of the 4 handicap spots just past our drop off location. This will allow the line to continue to move without delays and you can provide your child the assistance they may need.
Pick Up:
To decrease the wait time and help move cars through the line faster during pick up:
- Students get into the car independently.
We ask that parents do not get out of the car.
- If your child requires additional support with seatbelts or material management, we ask that you pull into one of the four handicap spots to provide your child with the assistance they may need.
Our goal is to help make this process as smooth and quick as possible. To do this, we need your support. One car can have a huge impact on the entire line. Please be considerate and respectful of other cars and people. Everyone’s time is valuable, and every student is important. Please follow the suggested guidelines to help us keep our lines moving and students safe.
