Better Support of Our Students

One of the most significant aspects of being a principal is working with families and the community to improve our school for all students. One of the most challenging aspects of being a principal is not being able to anticipate what will be needed until it's needed.

GIS recognizes that all students come to us with different needs, and sometimes these needs are not appropriately supported by current policies and procedures. The safety of all students is the highest priority, so GIS will follow a new protocol to support this.

Health Office Notifications:

Students presenting with pain, upset with an unknown cause, distressed, or otherwise appear different from their usual presentation will be brought to the health office to be seen.

Ms. Elkins or Ms. Barber will notify the student's family and collaboratively decide on a support plan.

Please email me if you have any questions about this addition to the health office protocols.

Thank You,

Mrs. H

Our Grand Isle School Store

The PTA has worked with a vendor to provide us with a school store so that families can order Grand Isle School gear!

Lost and Found

We have a large collection of sweatshirts, pants, shirts, jackets, water bottles, and some lunch boxes. If you're coming into school for pickup or drop-off, please swing by and see if anything belongs to your kiddo!

Isle La Motte School Building Use Survey

The CIUUSD school board has been soliciting suggestions for what to do with the Isle La Motte Elementary School building since it has not served students in any grades for the last three years. In addition to getting community feedback, they have also asked us to send out this survey to all CIUUSD families to determine if anyone would be interested in sending their students to the Isle La Motte School building if it were to re-open to some span of grade levels. All CIUUSD families, no matter what town they live in or which school they currently attend, are welcome to complete this survey:
