What's Happening In the Fifth Grade......
We love our room parents and volunteers! Thank you so much for decorating our classrooms and doors. What a wonderful way to get us all in the holiday spirit!
You are invited to the fifth grade holiday parties!
Come join us Thursday, December 17th, at 1:30.
Early Dismissal on Friday, December 18th, @ 11:45. Have a safe & wonderful winter break! We will see all of the students back at school on Tuesday, January 5th.
Curriculum Corner
Language Arts: The students will compose a narrative essay of their favorite holiday memories. No spelling until after the holidays.
Social Studies: The students will finish their advertisements to promote one of the original thirteen colonies. We will also look at colonial industries and everyday life in the eighteenth century.
Math: We will be using area models to represent the division of a decimal by a whole number.
Science: We will be identifying and comparing the physical characteristics of the Sun, Moon, and Earth and classifying Earth's day/night cycle.
