Daily Symptoms Checklist for Students and Staff
Principal Corner
Greetings Roadrunner Families,
We have completed five weeks of school already! Our students continue to do an amazing job of being responsible by wearing their masks and frequently washing and sanitizing their hands. Staff continue to also work hard to create an emotionally and physically safe environment for our students to learn and grow each and every day. Our families continue to be so supportive and encouraging of all that our team is doing to keep our students as healthy and safe as possible. It takes all of us working together to help our school remain open, and I remain incredibly grateful for all members of the Roadrunner community!
Please be sure to check out the beautiful front of our school as you have time! The memorial rock dedicated to Robert Frost's very first principal, Dr. Vik, has been placed in it's permanent location, our flag pole was erected today, and we are looking forward to receiving our new flag soon. The front of our school now also proudly displays both schools' names: Robert Frost and Challenge Center. While we may be two schools under one roof, we remain ONE STRONG COMMUNITY of learners and staff because TOGETHER we are ROADRUNNERS!
In the best interest of everyone's health, our District has made the decision to continue our temporary restriction of visitors to the schools through second quarter. With that being said, we will not have volunteers at school for our fall parties. We also are going to move to students wearing school-appropriate fall or Halloween shirts instead of costumes. With the need for social distancing, we are not able to have students all using the restrooms at the same time for costume changing, especially during a school-wide 45 minute celebration. Rest assured, treats and festivities will still occur in our classrooms! If you prefer your child not remain in the classroom for the fall party on October 30 from 2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m., please let your child's teacher know by Monday, October 26, and we will plan for an alternate activity as we have done in the past. Thank you!
Have a wonderful October and enjoy the beautiful changing of colors all around us!
Best wishes, Mrs. Gillette
