MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM PEAK SCHOOL LIBRARY!

The Wish List

We have started a worrying trend in the Library lately! When a new and particularly amusing picture book arrives we ask Mr Garnett to read it to the children which he willingly does, class by class. What happens next is a marketing phenomenon. There is inevitably a six week waiting list for that one book ... until the next comes along! Here are some of the favourites this year. We bet there are some children who would love to get these from Santa this Christmas!

Our Top Titles

Part of our role in the school is to let the children develop their own taste for literature whether it be Biographies, Historical Fiction, Adventure, Fantasy or Humour. Their taste tends towards Humour and Adventure and we encourage them to embrace that in any form of writing including the ever-popular graphic novels. It is our mission to get kids interested in storytelling in any form which might develop later into a more sophisticated format. With that said, this is what is trending at the moment in the Library!

Picture Books Please!

Here are some great suggestions from Goodreads from the top picture books of 2014.
... and some Christmas themed books from The Guardian.

Holiday Reading Suggestions

Earlier this year, we put together a list of fiction titles for 7+ that might spark a few ideas over the Christmas break...

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS - SEE YOU IN THE NEW YEAR!
