Carpe Diem
I have had many opportunities to “seize the day”. For the most part I choose not to. My mother calls me lazy. Every day I have unlimited gas, money, and a car at my disposal, but I usually sleep my day away. When my grandma finds out what I did with my day she has a fit and says “Carpe Diem”. To which I reply “a sister gotta sleep”.
School is very draining for me. During the week I have no energy to do anything so I do the bare minimum. I get up, come to school, go home, go to sleep and do it all over again. Soon as the weekend hit I’m up at 7am full of energy with nothing to do, so I don’t waste all that energy, I do as my grandma told me “Carpe Diem”. I slip in some clothes and head out for a two day good time. I use this time to hang out with my sisters because I don’t get to see them during the week. On Sundays I either go visit my dad or go to church.
The weekend isn’t the only time I seize the day, I get my money’s worth when I’m on vacation also. Not just any ole’ vacay to Atlantic City, I mean the tropical ones when I leave the country. These are my favorite so I definitely “Carpe Diem”. On vacations liked that I do things no one would expect me to do. No one would ever catch me golfing but if I’m on vacation and it’s paid for I’ll do it.
I hate fishing but if my family rents a boat then I’ll be fishing. My newly found vacation love is snorkeling. I think I’ll try just about anything once. Also if the food is paid for I’ll eat it, even if I’m not hungry. I even try strange things like frog legs, conch, and gator bites. I’ll never try any of those things again. They all tasted ok but I just can’t rap my head around eating things I could find in my backyard or in a swamp. That’s what I call “ Carpe Diem”.
