Spelling Bee
The District Spelling Bee was held on January 19, 2023 at 10:00 am in the DLB Elementary library. The students had to qualify with a written test to participate in the oral test. The students who participated in the 5th grade oral test were - Parker K, Lauryn C, Mikayla K, Payton K, Ella D, Keiara P, Braxton S, Memphis M, Izaiah B, and Xander P. 6th graders were - Asher W, Cooper H, Wesley K, Cameron M, Mason R, Micah A, Kendall H, Harley K, Hayden A, and Kesley M.
The 5th grade winner is Mikayla K and the alternate is Parker K. The 6th grade winner is Micah A and the alternate is Hayden A. The winners will compete in the Ward County Spelling Bee on February 22, 2023 at Minot State University.

Thank you to DLB Boosters, DLB Elementary will be sending each family home a book next Friday, January 27, to read as a family! This will be our fourth year reading a book as a school. In the past we've read A Boy Called Bat, Nim's Island, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The book will be revealed at next Thursday's assembly. The book and an activity calendar will come home with the youngest student in each family. If 80% of the families

- Wrestling, Boys Basketball, and Girls Basketball are approaching mid-season and district play
- JH Boys Basketball started January 3, 2023.
From Mrs. Schaefer (7-12 Counselor)
All juniors will be taking the ACT test at DLB March 7. It is important for all juniors to be in school that day! The test will take place from 8:30 until 12:45.
Students will do the pre-test paperwork February 28 during Laker Time. It is also important for all juniors to be present for this work.

National Honor Society
NHS students planned to deliver some Christmas goodies in December, but between snowstorms and semester tests, the delivery needed to be delayed. The picture below, shows students working to package CHRISTMAS in JANUARY packages

At the High School, the NHS students have planned WIESE WEEK to show support for their classmate and NHS student, Mia. We are looking forward to the week!! See the schedule below for dress up days.

Students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher were notified that there will be an information meeting Monday, 1.23.2023 to learn how to complete a Candidate Information Form, which must be submitted by 2.6.2023 to be considered for selection to the DLBHS National Honor Society this year. Please contact advisor, Mary Eldredge Sandbo with any questions.
