The best video Ben Spicer has ever tweeted is below!
Microsoft Immersive Reader
Immersive Reader enlarges text and reads it aloud. A user can change the color of the background (Irlen Syndrome), increase letter spacing, change the font, break words into syllables, see parts of speech, initiate line focus, and use a picture dictionary. I've added a lot of Learning Tools / Immersive Reader resources below.
These tools were initially created for students with cognitive impairment issues such as dyslexia and ADD, but studies are showing that the tools can benefit any reader. To try this feature out in your email, click the small down arrow beside "Reply" in one of your messages. Then click "Show in Immersive Reader". Viola! To exit out of Immersive Reader, click the back arrow on the upper left side of your screen.
Writing tip: Students write in Microsoft Word and use Immersive Reader to gauge how their writing sounds when read aloud.

Safe Schools Pledge
Click the image below to take the Safe Schools Pledge. This is a state-wide initiative that we participate in every year. Please have your students visit the website and take the pledge too.
It's also a great time to talk to your students about cyberbullying and internet safety.
