Also consider starting on the right foot with the parents. Establishing communication early and often will minimize frustration or confusion on the parent side of things. I realize you are at a disadvantage as we switch to our new student management system, so the secretaries have printed your student roster with parent contact information. We will put those in your mailbox.

What's our target?
Our building will align with the district goals of achieving 92% passing rates or 5% growth on all formal assessments (ISTEP, IREAD, SRI, SMI, etc.)
To help us achieve this, we will monitor our progress along the way;
South students will reach or exceed the reading level for their grade.
South students will meet or exceed math proficiency levels for their grade.
South students will master all of their math facts.
South students will write at a proficient level for their grade.
Our building will also measure our progress to make sure our stakeholders feel safe and cared for throughout the year.
