Westview Weekly
Success for all, whatever it takes!
September 28-October 2, 2015
Yesterday marked the start of a week filled with lots of changes to our daily schedule. These changes can effect us greatly as adults, so don't forget to keep in mind what it does to the students. We are all creatures of habit, and any change to our routine can Make sure you find the time within your week to emphasize your routines, procedures, and expectations to assist in keeping the students well adjusted to the changes.
I hope that each of you were able to personalize your learning yesterday by attending sessions that were meaningful to you. I was thankful that I was able to co-facilitate an EdCamp with Rita in which we helped a few more teachers get closer to putting the finishing touches on their PDPs.
Speaking of PDPs, they are due on Wednesday! Eeek! I know this is putting added stress on many of your plates, but know that Rita and I are here to help you along the way. We have had a chance to sit down face-to-face with most of you, and I have enjoyed listening as you have framed your PD goals around your personal needs. The time and effort that you have put into this will payoff 10-fold in your classrooms! If you want/need to sit down one last time before Wednesday, please stop by our office, and we'd be more than happy to help.
I wish each of you a blessed week! May it be the best one yet.
Educationally yours,
Brandyn
Assessments
Acuity CCR A
Any student in grades 3-5 that has not completed either of the Acuity assessments needs to have these completed before the end of the day of Friday, Oct. 2. In order to have class reports available, ALL students that start an assessment must finish it.
If you need assistance in seeing students through to completion, please let me know.
Team Meetings - Wednesday
Each grade level will spend some time reviewing our updated Building Improvement Plan that the Leadership Team has been diligently working on.
Additionally, Rita and I will be sharing information regarding the principal NEE process, our progress on improvement, etc.
Professional Learning Communities
The PDC Committee Members will be revealing our Quarter 1 Outstanding Educators, and the Leadership Team will be conducting a follow up from the day's team meetings.
After each of these items are completed, you will be free to use the time to finish PDPs and/or meet as a grade level/department.
