Mount Holly Elementary School
Message from Mrs. Jones
Next week, grade levels will begin their PBIS Celebrations. PBIS is our school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program. It includes school-wide procedures and processes intended for all students and staff. The intent of the program is to create a safe and productive learning environment where teachers teach and students learn.
Yesterday and today, we had Thanksgiving Lunch and Learn at MHES. Our focus was on Literacy and the theme was "Falling in Love with Literacy." Parents were invited to join their child's class for a short Literacy lesson followed by Thanksgiving Lunch in the cafeteria. See below snapshots from the event.

A SEASON OF GIVING
From Mrs. Kim Simpson's Desk - Reading Buddy Spotlight
The Reading Buddy Program is the pairing of an elementary student with an adult for 30 minutes each week. The pair spend time building a relationship and reading and conversing about the books they read. Mount Holly is thankful for our Reading Buddy Volunteers!
This week we highlight Mrs. Barbara Cauthen and Grace as our Reading Buddy Pair! Mrs. Cauthen has been a Reading Buddy since 2017. She has recently recruited her husband, who was pictured in last week’s school newsletter.
