Family Engagement Organization (our version of a PTO)

Our Family Engagement Organization (FEO) Parent organization met on Tuesday night 12/8 and are currently working on electing officers and becoming an official non-profit organization. The FEO is also working on setting up a fundraiser for families in need in the beginning of 2021. They would love to have your help! If you are interested in taking part or finding out more, please contact the president, Cheryl Peterson - FlexFEO@gmail.com

We need your help!

Please search for overdue and lost items: library books, textbooks from last school year and school-issued devices (iPads, Chromebooks) that your student isn’t currently using. Search your in-box, too, for any emails from noreply@intouchreceipting.com or do-not-reply@nwresd.k12.or.us, which will indicate that your student has a missing item.

Then return that item to any BSD school. At Timberland, there is a cart labeled "library book return" outside the front doors from 8am-3:30pm. If you are returning a Chromebook, please call the office at 503-356-3720 when you arrive.

December Snowflake Hunt

This month Beaverton Safe Routes to School invites your school community to go on a Snowflake Hunt! To participate make a snowflake and place it in a window facing the street and then go for a walk and count how many snowflakes you find. We hope this provides your family with a fun activity and a little encouragement to get outside for a walk or roll. Use the link below for a snowflake making tutorial and make sure your trip is counted in the following ways:

1. Send an email to bsdsaferoutes@gmail.com with the number of snowflakes you found. BSD students (or parents) please include how many students participated and what school they are from.

2. BSD elementary students can also log their miles on their Marathon Kids account. If you need information on how to set up a Marathon Kids account, contact your PE teacher.

3. Post a photo to social media with the following hashtags #BSDsaferoutes #BSDtogether #BSDmarathonkids

Friendly Attendance Reminder

Please take 5-10 minutes each day to log into Canvas and click the attendance button. If you are elementary, the button is found in your Language Arts course. If you are in middle or high school, please click the button in your A/B day classes (depending on day) and Advisory every Wednesday. This information is critical for state reporting. We appreciate your cooperation.

Stay in the Know

We use the SchoolMessenger notification system to send automated phone calls, emails and texts to parents, guardians, students and staff. These messages include return-to-school information, important messages and reminders, attendance notifications and inclement weather messages. Visit the BSD SchoolMessenger webpage for more information.

You can update your notification preferences via SchoolMessenger InfoCenter or by downloading the app. Check out this quick video on how to manage your account.

FLEX Semester Openings

Do you know someone who is interested in joining FLEX at semester break this year? We are accepting a small number of applications for openings at the semester break (February 5, 2021). Applications are due January 22nd at 4:00pm. Check our enrollment web page to learn more and access the application.

Tell Us Your Story!

We would love your help to tell the story of our school and the families that make our school community so special. We will use this information on our school website to help other students and families know more about our school. Use our online form to tell your story and even upload a photo if you have one!

If you already given feedback, thank you so much!

After-School Clubs

We have several clubs running now including Pokemon, art, writing and more! These are a great way for students to connect and meet other students who share their interests. Students can ask their Homeroom or Advisory teacher to find out how to sign up. Information about our current clubs and when they meet on is our website.

Thanks for reading!
