Principal's message

Dear Raider Families,

As the principal of Crews Lake Middle School, I welcome you to the start of the 2015-16 school year! I am eagerly anticipating a successful and rewarding year, and I look forward to working with the dedicated staff, parents and community to provide an exceptional educational experience for Crews Lake students.

For those of you who I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting, please allow me to introduce myself. Prior to be named principal at Crews Lake I served ten years at Weightman Middle School, eight as a social studies teacher and two years as an instructional technology specialist. The last six years, I worked as an assistant principal at Crews Lake. I recognize the start of middle school can signal feelings of both excitement and trepidation, and I thank you for entrusting your children to the Crews Lake staff. We do not take lightly our responsibility in ensuring your children experience a highly-engaging educational experience in a safe and nurturing environment, and we are thrilled to partner with our families as they embark on the next leg in their children’s academic journey.

The middle years are time for growth, challenge and discovery. At Crews Lake, we encourage and prepare students to participate fully, to take risks, to be self-advocates, and to create lasting memories and relationships with peers and staff. I am proud to be the principal of such an exciting and dynamic school and to work in the unique and beautiful area of Shady Hills.

Our goal at Crews Lake is to provide an enriching, engaging, and challenging curriculum that will prepare students for success while at Crews lake and for the years that follow. We believe that students, parents, and teachers all play a vital role in helping students reach their greatest potential. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the many resources and opportunities available to them including the media center, computer labs, school spirit days, raider council, team building activities, after school academic and athletic offerings. Parents can check academic progress regularly via eSembler and can access information about school events on our website.

I am excited and honored to be part of the Crews Lake family for what I know will be an amazing school year. Those who know me know that I truly have an open door policy, and I welcome your questions, concerns, and input at any time. You can contact me at or call 727-246-1600.

Proud to be a Raider!

Adam Kennedy
