Basketball Information - Note from Coach Massey

This is going to be an awesome and busy week at Brock with our girls making the state tournament and our boys possibly playing in the regional tournament. With this being said we will need to plan for Thursday and Friday. Brock ISD employees and students will be encouraged to support our student athletes. If a student or faculty member would like to attend the state game on Thursday they will still be counted as present as long as they attend the semifinal game. If the girls win on Thursday and play on Saturday then students and faculty will not be required to attend school on Friday and will still be counted as present for Friday as long as they attend the state championship game on Saturday or attend the boys regional semifinal game. If in the case the girls lose on Thursday and students/faculty would like to attend the boys Regional Semifinal game on Friday then they will be counted as present as well. If the girls lose Thursday and the student/faculty do not wish to attend the boys game on Friday then they will need to be in class on Friday. If a student/faculty member would like to only attend the boys Regional Semifinal game on Friday they will be allowed to release at 11:00 am on Friday.

Please note that all students will need to check in with designated faculty at the games. Each principal will designate faculty members and get that information to the students.

Girls Tournament

  • If you go to the girls game on Thursday you will be counted as present on Thursday.
  • If the girls win Thursday and you attend the girls game on Saturday you will be counted a present on Friday.

Boys Regional Tournament (if we win on Tuesday)

  • If you attend the girls game on Thursday and attend the boys Regional Semifinal game on Friday then you will be counted a present on Thursday and Friday.
  • If you attend only the boys Regional Semifinal game on Friday then you will be released at 11:00 am.

I do understand this is very convoluted so if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
