Literary Element: Personification

Definition
A figure of speech in which an inanimate object or abstract concept is endowed with human attributes. Non-human objects are portrayed in a way that we feel they have the ability to act like humans.
Examples
- The stars danced playfully in the moonlit sky.
- The sun glared down at me from the sky.
- Time creeps up on you.
