Woodbury Junior-Senior High School - Weekly Newsletter
Friday, October 30, 2020
Message from the Principal:
Our hybrid instruction will begin with orientation days on Monday and Wednesday of next week. Students in Cohort A will come to school on Monday and students in Cohorts B & C will come on Wednesday. We will utilize these days to help our students transition back into the building and become familiar with our safety protocols. Please take a look at the video below for more details. I've also included the parent letter that was mailed to your home last week as a reminder.
It is important that you stress the necessity of proper mask wearing, social distancing, and a willingness to be flexible with your child. School will look a bit different from what they are used to and we need our students to rise up to this new challenge. If parents could help with this it would be greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to all or our Students of the Month! We are super proud of your efforts during remote learning. Their pictures are below.
Have a great weekend!
In partnership,
Dr. Vivadelli

Red Ribbon Week 10/26 - 10-30
Dear Woodbury Teachers, Parents, and Guardians,
Woodbury Junior-Senior High School celebrated Red Ribbon Week October 26-30, 2020.
The Counseling Department along with our school nurse recorded videos that tied in to the themed days and making healthy choices. Please take a few moments to watch the videos and use this time to open a dialog at home to discuss how to make healthy choices for a healthy future.
Sincerely,
The Counseling Department partnering with Nurse Dreger

Student Spotlight - Andy Vivar Mazariegos
Andy Vivar Mazariegos, an 8th grade student, exhibits a great work ethic. He comes to all zoom classes and is an active participant and a positive force in all his classes. Not only does Andy work hard in the classroom and maintains As and Bs, but he also works just as hard on the soccer field. He is on four different soccer teams: two Deptford elite teams, a Spanish league team, and Woodbury’s junior high team. Andy does an amazing job balancing schoolwork, home responsibilities, and sports.
Chemistry Class with Ms. Thomulka
In our next chemistry unit, students will be investigating what causes fireworks to explode in brilliant colors. When the electrons in metals get energized, they produce signature colors like the strontium (red), barium (yellow), and copper (green) mix seen in the picture.
Camden County College Open House
Virtual College Fair
Attention: 10th - 12th Grade Students and Parents
Please take a moment to explore this opportunity for a virtual college fair hosted by the Career Council Inc. Each student MUST register for this event. These events are offered free to your school.
The designated date and time for Woodbury students to attend will be on Monday, November 16th from 3:00-7:00pm.
I hope that in the near future we will again bring in-person college fairs to you, but for now the virtual fair will assist your students in their college search. A flyer announcing the date and times of the fairs is attached. A form with a registration link to register for each fair is also attached.
PLEASE NOTE--though once opened, the links indicate specific counties of New Jersey, please disregard, as EACH FAIR IS OPEN TO EVERYONE! Please register for the fair(s) which are most convenient for you. Many but not all of the same colleges will be at each event, so we encourage you to look at each fair.
If you have any questions, please contact your counselor.
