Kindness Week
Kindness week has been quite a success so far. We all put our phones away especially during FIT and lunch on Monday and had some great face-to-face conversations. Yesterday, we complimented others and today we sat with people we usually do not sit with at lunch. Tomorrow students must wear their mass uniforms but can wear ties, sweaters or scarves that are mostly yellow. After mass, they may put on yellow shoes and/or socks.
Thursday- yellow for generosity
Friday- blue for compassion
Friday, is blue for compassion, and every class will have their very own Thanksgiving Celebration during lunch on Friday, November 22. Students had the opportunity to purchase Thanksgiving plates in advance, and each class will be bringing desserts for their class to share. Seniors will eat in St. Joseph Hall, Juniors in the foyer by St. Joseph Hall, Sophomores and Freshmen in the cafeteria.
The Hunger Games
The winner of the “Hunger Games” wins an off campus lunch. Right now the seniors are in the lead with 440 cans. Juniors have 380, sophomores 360 and freshmen 88.
The 3 students that bring in the most items will also receive a prize.
Every student will receive credit for 1 service hour for every 15 items they donate up to 5 hours.
Every student that brings in 30 or more cans will receive free dress on December 16th.
Don’t forget for every case of water (at least 24 count) or bag of rice, you can remove items from another class. Every 2 water bottles subtracts 1 item and every 1 lb of rice subtracts 1 item.
Exam Schedule
Below is the Semester 1 Exam Schedule. The school will open and supervision will be present beginning at 7:30 a.m. Teachers will be in their classrooms by 8:00 a.m. and available for tutoring until 8:45 a.m. They will also remain on campus and available for tutoring after exams from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. If students remain on campus after exams, they must be with a teacher or staff member. They will not be allowed to congregate in the foyer by the gym without supervision. All students need to be picked up by 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 20, because the teachers will all be in a meeting beginning beginning at that time.
High School Fall Retreat - How He Loves
The retreat will be held November 23- 24 at Messiah's Ranch in Bryan, Texas. There is a bonus night for upperclassmen on November 22, where 11th and 12th graders will be able to invite God into their lives in a particular way as they look ahead to what they'll be doing after high school.
The cost for the retreat is $60.00 if you sign up before October 15 and have either paid the St Louis Youth registration fee or are on a payment plan. After October 15, the cost goes up to the regular registration price, $80.00. Late registration is $100.00 from November 9-15.
