Parent Updates

  • Evergreen Mill has a new Family Liaison and she is ready to connect with you. Mrs. Daisy Arroyo will be working on Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 - 2:30 in the main office. Please make sure to say hello and reach out if your family has any needs. Stay tuned for information about a Meet and Greet event coming soon.
  • Technology is a wonderful thing! The technology that used to be much more prevalent in middle and high school has now become widespread at the elementary level as well. Many of our students are now bringing cell phones to school, and wearing Apple or Gizmo watches. School policy is that cell phones are to be kept in your child's backpack during the school day and should only be used in case of emergency. Watches, since they stay with your child throughout the school day, have become more of a distraction this year as students are texting with parents (sometimes initiated by the parent) during the school day and during instruction. Please help us in reinforcing with your child that they are not to be texting or communicating with parents during the instructional day unless it is an emergency. I would also ask that parents follow this same policy when it comes to texting your child. We want our students to be focused on learning and building social relationships while at school. I also want to remind you that in most cases EMES/LCPS are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items such as phones and watches.
  • Please plan to join us for our PTA meeting tomorrow night at 7 PM in the library and don't forget to join us for Bingo NIght this Friday. See below for more details.

Purchasing A Charger for your Child's Chromebook

As many of you now know, the Chromebook assigned to your child is used daily at school and will be your child's educational lifeline should they need to participate in asynchronous learning. If your child's charger is lost or damaged you may purchase a new one though our Online Service portal on our school website: http://lcps.org/evergreen. Should your child's charger be deemed to be defective, LCPS will replace this free of charge. Below is a video with step by step direction on how to use our new Online Service Portal. If you have any questions please reach out to jessica.cruz@lcps.org or cassandra.marra@lcps.org.

Here is a video you can watch if you need to purchase a new charger. The cost for a new charger is $30.00.
