WIN stands for What I Need
The WIN Period meets on Red Days (Mondays, Thursdays and every other Wednesday) for 60 minutes. This time has been set aside to allow teachers and specialists to deliver specific, high-quality, and evidence-based instruction targeting the individual needs of each student. WIN groups are collaboratively constructed based on student assessment data and teacher recommendations.
Assessment data includes:
STAR Reading and Math
IRLA Reading Assessment
CMAS Reading and Math

Halloween ~ Monday, October 31st
Students and Staff will participate in our annual Fun Run from 10:50am - 12:00pm. Students who beat the principal in the mile run will earn a healthy treat. Students and staff are invited to dress in costume for school. Costumes must be dress code compliant. No weapons, masks or bloody core, please. Happy Halloween!
AMS + Aspen Words
This October, Aspen Words brought three renowned teaching artists and performance poets into our ELA classrooms. The artists lead students through in-class instruction and extra curricular workshops. At the conclusion of the workshop series, students were invited to share their poetry at our Spoken Words Poetry Showcase held in the AHS Blackbox. This event was emcee’d by professional slam poet Natasha “Natty” Carrizosa.
Students have the opportunity to continue working remotely with the guest poets throughout the month of December. Your student is invited to participate.
This partnership with Aspen Words was graciously sponsored by the Aspen Education Foundation.
"Socktober" Dance and Sock Fundraising Success
AMS earned over $1,500 for our friends at Challenge Aspen! Thank you to our parent volunteers and to all students who purchased socks this year. We had dancing, games, homemade treats, and outdoor recess to ensure all students got to enjoy a social time with their classmates. We couldn’t do it without our amazing parents and staff volunteers!! What a great way to celebrate Early Release Wednesday!
