"Home of the Eagles"
June 6th - The Incredible Spring of 2016 Comes to a Successful End!
Members of our Boys and Girls Track teams that qualified for the OHSAA state meet, competed on Friday and Saturday at Jesse Owens stadium at The Ohio State University and performed extremely well!
The weekend started out on Friday morning when our Boys 4x800 competed in the Division III Final and earned All Ohio status by finishing 6th in the state in that event. The 4x800 team consists of Logan Baugher, Billy Barker, Josh Harper and Sam Church. Shortly after that Sophomore, Katelyn Meyer competed in the high jump and placed 5th to earn All-Ohio status. On Saturday, Katelyn Meyer competed in the long jump and she again earned All-Ohio status by placing 3rd. Our Boys 4x100 team of Cooper Comes, Isaac Emahiser, Ryan Reiter and Tyler Bernot finished 7th in the finals and earned All-Ohio status. Logan Baugher competed in the 800 meter run and placed 8th to earn All-Ohio status. Katelyn Meyer competed in the 100 meter Hurdles Finals and placed 8th earning her All-Ohio status and the successful weekend ended with our Boys 4x400 team of Logan Baugher, Sam Church, Ryan Reiter and Isaac Emahiser WINNING the event and earned State Champion status. With all of these efforts the Boys ended up placing 8th as a team at the state meet. Logan Baugher and Katelyn Meyer were All-Ohio in three events, Isaac Emahiser, Sam Church and Ryan Reiter were All Ohio in two events and Cooper Comes, Tyler Bernot, Josh Harper and Billy Barker were All Ohio in one event.
All in all it was a great weekend for our Boys and Girls Track programs and one in which they all performed at a high level. It was a perfect way to end the competitive part of our Spring Sports season which was magical and historic.
In a short summary of the things that were accomplished this Spring, it shows the following awards/accomplishments for all of our Spring Sports teams:
Varsity Baseball - NBC Champions, Sectional Champions, District Champions, Regional Qualifier, 21-6 overall record, 10-4 Conference record.
Varsity Softball - NBC Champions, Sectional Champions, District Runner Up, 24-1 overall record, 13-0 in the conference.
Boys Track - NBC Champions, District Champions, Regional Champions
Girls Track - NBC Champions, District Runner Up
That is much to be proud of and has never happened before when we won all of the conference championships in one season with 4 conference championships being contested and 4 championships won by the Eagles!
We will celebrate all of this success at our Spring Sports Awards Night on Tuesday, June 6th at 7pm in the high school auditorium. This event is free and open to the public and should be a special night!
