Principal's Message
October 31, 2022
Greeting Tiger Families!
It was wonderful to see so many families enjoy our Fiesta Night last Thursday. A big thank you goes out to our PTA and all those parents who volunteered with the coordination, preparation, running of the different booths, and for helping with the necessary clean up! It was great and made our hearts full to see our students smiling and having a good time.
Storybook Pumpkins Patch
Close to 150 pumpkins were entered into our Storybook Pumpkin Patch contest this year. Thank you families for supporting your children with these creative and amazing fun projects. Congratulations to all the grade level winners! A big thanks of appreciation to our amazing librarian, Mrs. Cagliero, for her hard work and for all the volunteer parents who helped during drop off!
Red Ribbon Week Finale!
We'll finish our Red Ribbon Week this Monday with Superheroes Day. Students can wear their favorite hero costume to show that they have the power to change the world. No face paints or masks, please.
News From Our School Garden
Hello and happy autumn!
This is Celeste, your Garden Educator. As you know, I use the school garden as a living-laboratory to teach your students nutrition and science through hands-on lessons! This is all made possible by your school’s partnership with One Cool Earth.
Our figs and grapes welcomed our students and staff with open arms. This year in the garden, we are singing much more. Each class got to learn this song during our garden tour:
Mother I feel you
Under my feet
Mother I feel your
Heartbeat
hey-a hey-a hey-a hey-a hey-a hey aho
hey-a hey-a hey-a hey-a hey aho
Madre te siento
Bajo mis pies
Siento los latidos
De tu corazón
hey-a hey-a hey-a hey-a hey-a hey aho
hey-a hey-a hey-a hey-a hey aho
Looking forward to singing more songs and spending more time working and celebrating with families this school year!
Thank you!
Celeste
Books with Buddies Mentor Program
We are looking for a few more adult volunteers to partner with a second grade student for 40 minutes, once a week for 6 weeks during the student’s lunch time. The goal is to develop a strong bond between the mentor and the student through one-on-one attention during each reading session. Our intent is that each student will develop a love for reading and literacy and that this attention and mentoring will provide a lasting impression on every student’s education.
Pease email or call Marilu Gomez (mgomez@pasoschools.org ) or our office at 805-769-1200.
