Student Placement 2019-2020
Over the next few months, we will begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. In putting together the classes, we will take into consideration many factors: girl/boy ratio, academic ability, behavioral characteristics, talents, personalities, emotional needs and learning styles. Our goal is to ensure that each child is in a class that has an appropriate balance of students with the proper teacher. We assess each child's individual needs based upon input from the present classroom teacher, student support counselor, reading specialist, and principal.
Class placement is made after reviewing a considerable amount of data. If you feel that we would benefit from additional information, you are welcome to send an email directly to me at kcarter@cbsd.org by May 1st. Consider describing a classroom environment that would be beneficial to your son/daughter. In addition, share any information regarding academic, social or emotional information that you would like us to consider. You should not name a specific teacher. District staffing is not complete until June and teaching assignments may change. Please use this opportunity to speak to your child's strengths and needs. Please note: requests for specific teachers will not be considered.
We want what is best for your child and that involves them having a wide variety of educational experiences. You are not required to send an email; however I welcome your input. Parents will learn of class placement in August. Emails sent after May 1st will not be considered.
Thank you,
Kelly Carter
Dismissal Changes
If your child's dismissal plans have changed, and it is a same-day change, please email Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Schieber directly in the Gayman office at cstevens@cbsd.org and dschieber@cbsd.org . This will ensure that your email is read and your child's teacher will be contacted. You are also welcome to call the Gayman Office at 267-893-4350.
For dismissal changes that are days in advance, please feel free to contact the office or your child's teacher. Thank you!

Mustangs in Motion 2019
It's time for our fundraiser: Mustangs in Motion! All money raised through this event is used to support a variety of activities: playground and gym equipment, classroom supplies, grade level activities, and school wide activities.
***NEW THIS YEAR. We will be working with an outside organization, “myfunrun”, to assist us with fundraising. A webpage for our event has been created where family and friends will be able to go in and make an online donation. They will be able to choose to donate at the grade level or at the teacher/class level for their student(s). Sponsors will be able to leave a message for the student they are supporting at the time of their donation. The grade level with the highest donations at the close of the fundraising portion of the event will enjoy recognition and an afternoon of fun (think ice cream and extra recess).
Along with on line donations we will continue to accept donations by check and those can be sent in directly with the student, mailed directly to the school or sent to my fun run and they will forward to us. Checks must be made out to GHSA.
Students will be bringing home additional details about the program and how you can reach out to family and friends here in PA, the U.S. and around the world.
If you have any questions please drop an email to: rfegayman@gmail.com
Thank you for your support!
