Every Student Counts, Every Moment Matters!
Message From Principal Webb
Hello families!
I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the weather! We had a great Open House welcoming our new Longhorns to Longfellow on Thursday!
The PTA carnival is one week away! Please check out the online auction for pre-sales and bids on some amazing items and services. We hope to see you for games, food, and prizes next Saturday!
We are still looking for many families to participate in our Longfellow International Night! We would like to have as many families host a table as possible! There are local diversity boxes from our University as well if your child would like to host a country that they are interested in too.
As a reminder, we will be completing our state-wide assessments this week. We are encouraging students to do their best, stay calm, and be confident. Make-up tests (for students who are absent) will be made up next week.
Sincerely,
Kelli Webb
Longfellow's 1st International Night
Join the Longfellow Staff in celebrating the diversity of our school for our 1st Annual International Night event!! Mark your calendars for Monday, April 22nd 6:00-7:30. This special event is where your family will have the opportunity to experience and enjoy culture, taste ethnic foods, and see artifacts from all over the world.
We are seeking presenters for this year’s event! A presenter will set up a table/booth and is responsible for bringing artifacts, music, clothing and/or food from your family’s native country. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your country and we would like as many countries represented as possible.
If you are interested in being a presenter and are willing to share artifacts and/or food from your country, please complete the form below by April 18th.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to help make this a cultural event to remember!

Attendance Zones
- Attendance Zones
The Iowa City Community School District Board of Directors approved new elementary attendance areas for the 2019-20 school year. The new boundaries were approved during their November 27 board meeting. The updated maps can be found on the District website at the following link: www.IowaCitySchools.org/DistrictMaps. In addition, the District’s Attendance Area Look-Up links have been updated to reflect the approved boundary changes. The Attendance Area Look-Up links provide school information specific for your home address. The links can be found on the District website at the following link: www.IowaCitySchools.org/AttendanceAreaLookUp. Junior high and high school students may also be impacted by these changes. Please be sure to check the Attendance Area Look-Up link above to determine if changes to the elementary boundaries have affected your student.
