Pattillo Reopening Information
Please read this information carefully!
Face to Face Students vs. Virtual Students
Parents of confirmed face to face students have been contacted by the school. These are the only students who may report to campus for instruction starting January 26, 2021. All other students are considered a virtual student. Due to social distancing guidelines and classroom capacities, virtual students may not change their status to face to face.
Virtual students will meet with teachers during their new scheduled times. Please refer to the virtual schedule below for the new times.
If you are unsure of the status of your child, please contact the school at (252) 823-3812.
Grades/PowerSchool
PowerSchool Parent Portal is an online resource that gives parents access to their children's homework assignments, grades, and more. All school districts in North Carolina use this resource for their student information system, which gives parents access to:
- Grades
- Test results
- Grade history
- Attendance history
- Progress reports
- Teacher comments
- Homework Assignments
If you have not set up your Parent Portal Account, please contact the front office at (252) 823-3812.
Information for Face to Face Students
Face to Face Students
Teachers and students are not online at the same time. The teacher provides learning resources and tasks through an online learning platform. Students access learning and tasks at a time that works for their family.
Face 2 Face (Tuesdays – Fridays)
Students return to campus for traditional face to face instruction Tuesday-Friday. Monday will be an asynchronous day as the building will be closed for deep cleaning. Asynchronous activities will be offline for students who have returned F2F.
Face to Face Open House
- Pick up schedules
- Pick up attestation forms
- Pick up bus information or car rider tag numbers
Chromebooks for Face to Face Students
Arrival Procedures Including Symptom Screenings and Temperature Checks
- Students must submit the Daily Covid-19 Symptoms Attestation Form, that is signed by the parent/guardian (THIS IS A REQUIREMENT EVERYDAY!). Please see the section below that explains this form. Carpool students will drop these forms in buckets placed at each unloading station (indicated by an orange cone). Bus riders will drop these forms in a folder when loading the bus. Walkers will drop these forms in a bucket at their temperature check station. If a family habitually fails to submit the attestation forms and the school is forced to try and verify in other ways, the family may be asked to return to a virtual learning option.
- Staff will perform a body temperature check as students enter the building. They will also check that each student has their mask on appropriately. If a student registers a high temperature, the student will be placed in our isolated health room and a parent/guardian will be required to pick up the student within an hour. This is true and required should a student show symptoms at any point during the school day. If a family habitually fails to pick up their student in a timely manner, the family may be asked to return to a virtual learning option. Thank you for helping us keep our staff, students, and community safe as we transition back to in person learning.
Daily COVID-19 Attestation Forms
This ticket will be required for every student, every day. There cannot be an exception to this process. This is a requirement for our reopening plan and a required state regulation to remain in reopen status. If a family habitually fails to submit the attestation forms and the school is forced to try and verify in other ways, the family may be asked to return to a virtual learning option. Thank you for helping us keep our staff, students, and community safe as we transition back to in person learning.
These books are being printed and can be picked up from the school during our open house on January 14th and 15th from 9:00-3:30p.
Reminders for Scholars Riding the School Bus
As we return to face to face instruction, please remember the following for our bus riders:
Other Reminders Regarding Bus Transportation:
- Students should be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time.
- Students /parents should do your best to socially distance at the bus stops.
- Students will enter/exit the bus one at a time and should keep adequate spacing between each students as they load/unload.
- Body Temperature checks should first occur at home and any parent who sees that their students have a high temperature or who has other potential symptoms should keep their student at home.
- An additional temperature check will take place once students arrive at school and prior to being allowed into the building.
- All Bus Riders must have the signed Daily Symptom Screening Attestation from parents each day. This is a requirement for school entry. For students who do not have this form/ticket, families will be contacted daily. If a family habitually fails to submit the attestation forms and the school is forced to try and verify in other ways, the family may be asked to return to a virtual learning option. (Please come to the school to pick this up on January 14th and 15th from 9:00-3:30p).
- Students will have an assigned seat on the bus for both AM and PM routes.
- Students must wear a mask while loading, riding, and departing from the bus.
- Students will sit one per seat, unless they are from the same home/residence, then up to three scholars per seat.
- The seat directly behind the bus driver will remain vacant.
- The bus will be cleaned/sanitized after unloading in the morning and in the afternoon.
Bus Assignment Changes: Need to be Added to a Bus or Change Drop Off/Pick Up Locations
- In order to accommodate a safe return to school, transportation must ensure that our buses do not go over capacity and our seating rules.
- Any changes to a bus assignment must occur by requesting the change on a bus assignment form. After the form is submitted to the school, it can take up to 10 days to process the change and make the adjustments.
- Please remember that all students are assigned to a bus by their primary residence and address. Alternate addresses for bus pick up/drop off are not allowed the first 10 days. A parent that needs to use an alternate location for drop off/pick up needs to submit this change on a bus change request and then understand that it can take up to two weeks for the changes to be processed.
School Bus Regulations
Providing safe bus transportation for our students is our top priority at Pattillo. It is very important for students to understand that they are responsible for following the rules that will help make their ride on the bus safe and enjoyable. Each student will be given a set of simple rules to follow while riding the bus and waiting at the bus stop. Students who fail to follow the rules run the risk of losing the privilege of riding a bus to and from school.
School Bus Rules
1. Stay seated while the bus is moving.
2. Sit in your assigned seat.
3. No eating or drinking.
4. Talk quietly only to those around you.
5. No profanity of any kind.
6. No fighting. (Fighting results in a 10 day suspension and student will be returned to remote).
7. Keep all body parts to yourself.
8. Be respectful and obey the bus driver at all times.
