NHS Band & Guard
All the Info You Need to Know for Grasso!
The Basics...
Gates will open to the public on Saturday at 5:00 pm, and the show will start promptly at 6:00 pm.
Purchasing tickets? Prices are $10 for adults & $5 for children & seniors, payable via cash at the gate.
Remember:
- Wear a Band & Guard SHOW SHIRT, sweatshirt or windbreaker if you have one...
- Bring a small FLASHLIGHT to help yourself, as well as any visitors who may need a little extra assistance.
- Everyone is asked to assist with general CLEANUP after the show ends.
You are all ambassadors for our program and Newtown... WELCOME OUR GUESTS! We are appreciative for all who come to Newtown to compete, participate and watch, so please thank them for coming and offer a “Have a good show!” to all you meet.
If it rains on Saturday (no rain, no rain), we will have the show no matter what. We will decide if we need to move the show indoors during the day on Saturday. We have several contingency plans in place, so please remain flexible during the day in the event that we need to change quickly to an indoor performance. We will need everyone’s help to make things run smoothly.
The Parking Predicament
BAND & GUARD MEMBERS: GET A RIDE TO PRACTICE!
If possible do not bring your car to NHS on Saturday – leave it at the Diner so you will have it later that night and get a ride to NHS - Parents, please drive them to practice! If students do bring a car to practice, they will be directed to where to park which will be in the upper lot of F-wing that is past the baseball field – we will have someone to direct them.
VOLUNTEERS: PLEASE USE OUR SHUTTLE!
This is one of our biggest shows in years and we need every parking space for spectators; to make things easier for you, we will be providing a "shuttle" for our volunteers at the Exit 11 Commuter Lot at the following times:
- 12:30–1:30 for volunteers coming to the first shift of the snack shack AND for the set up crew.
- 3:00–4:15 – for the rest of the volunteers
Thanks to Joanie Minor and D.J. Ledina for volunteering as your chauffeurs... They will be wearing show shirts and/or windbreakers so you can’t miss them; also, their vehicles will have a NHSBPC Volunteer Shuttle sign on the passenger side dashboard.
Shuttle service will also be available for rides BACK to the commuter lot after cleanup; simply meet at the top of the stadium on the scoreboard side of the Snack Shack if you need a ride back to the commuter lot.
If you must park at NHS, please do not park in the front lots. You should drive all the way around the back of the school, and park in the lot that is up above the greenhouse, by the back practice fields. If you can’t use our shuttle, please carpool or leave one at the diner….be creative! And, as stated above, please drop your Band & Guard members off for practice.
