Ads & advocacy: Impacting lawmakers
PRSA-WV Chapter on April 20 at Steptoe & Johnson
Ads and Advocacy: How targeted messaging can impact governmental relations
Join us on Wednesday, April 20, to learn how to use your voice to create messages and change the discourse of public policy. Whether your message is for an issue, a nonprofit or economic development, it is important to know the strategies to best target your messages to lawmakers and how to create action around those issues. Through this half-day seminar, you will learn:
how to tailor your messages and create calls to action with your audiences,
what type of messaging works best for lawmakers (according to legislators themselves),
how social media is playing a growing role in changing public policy, and
in a hands-on workshop, familiarize yourself with the legislative process and how to influence changes in legislation.
We will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Charleston office of Steptoe & Johnson, on the 17th floor of Chase Tower, 707 Virginia St., E. The seminar will conclude at 5:00 p.m., and we’ll have an informal social hour after the event.
Parking is encouraged in one of the area city parking garages, since the Chase Tower lot cannot accommodate our group. Reservations are required by Friday, April 15, and the cost of the event is $30 per person. Just register at prsawv.org.
