Student of the Month -Parker Lowery
Parker is the daughter of Wade and Shelby Lowrey. She has a sister, Haydan. Parker's special interests are livestock showing and camping with her family. She is a BISD Jr. FFA member and is looking forward to attending Texas A&M at College Station. She aspires to be a Veterinarian. She would like to start her own mobile vet business in Fannin County. Parker's teacher, Lana Kirkpatrick, says Parker is an amazing girl. She is kind, smart and funny. She works extremely hard inside and outside of the classroom. When she sets a goal, she works very diligently to make sure she exceeds that goal. She is a great example to her peers. Parker will do great things in her life. Mrs. Kirkpatrick feels very lucky to get to spend her third grade year with Parker.
Teachers of the Month - Charlsie Vaught and Stephanie Avery
Mrs. Vaught and Mrs. Avery are Instructional Specialists for Finley-Oates. This school year we would not have been successful without these two ladies. They have done so much for our remote instruction and learners. They are kind, patient and always will to help with smiles on their faces. They each have a huge heart for kids and they are quick to help answer questions and find solutions to problems. They have gone above and beyond in every situation to do what is best for children. Mrs. Vaught and Mrs. Avery have put in tireless hours this year to make sure everyone's needs are met. We are so lucky to have both of these ladies at Finley-Oates and I hope they know how much they are appreciated.
Paraprofessional of the Month - Patty Vermillion
Mrs. Vermillion has worked for BISD for 24 years. She has a skillset that is unmatched. Mrs. Vermillion makes it a point to build relationships with those around her no matter who you are or what you do, and she is a fierce advocate for kids. When some might give up, Mrs. Vermillion keeps working, trying to find the method or strategy that will be the breakthrough for that unique student. She is constantly giving her time and resources to help those in need. It is a privilege to work with her each day, and an even greater privilege to call her a friend. There is no doubt our campus and our students are better off because of her.
BISD Board Goal 3: Ensure all students have high levels of academic achievement
with a focus on literacy and mathematics through improved leadership, instruction, support and a climate of continuous improvement.
Chrome Books have arrived!!
Finley-Oates received our first round of Chrome Books. These were purchased with TEA's Operation Connectivity Project. Some of the comments heard were, "This is the best day ever!" "I am going to save up my own money, because I am going to have to get me one of these!" There was so much excitement about all of the ways this technology will enhance the educational experience for our students. Thank you Bonham ISD for making our elementary children a priority.
Shaving Cream Fun!!!
BISD Goal 4: Promote a positive and service-oriented culture within the
Bonham ISD.
Warriors helping Warriors
We had a Warrior family in need. Finley-Oates raised $1089.00 paying $1 to wear pajamas and accessing a photo booth. Warriors never fight alone. #proudtraditionsshapingthefuture
BISD raised $469.65 for KOOL lunches. This will provide 235 lunches this summer! This money was raised by BISD students and staff paying $1 to wear hats the Friday before Spring Break.
