OES Family Update
November 27th, 2023
Message From the Principal
OES Families,
I hope you had a restful and joyful Thanksgiving break. It is hard to believe that we are only 4 weeks away from the end of the first semester. Although the holidays approaching can be an exciting time for our students, I ask that you encourage your student to commit to finishing the semester strong. Our teachers will begin 2nd Quarter benchmarking both before and after Winter Break so it is imperative that your child is at school and ready to do their best. We will be revisiting and refreshing routines and procedures this week in an effort to provide as much consistency and structure as the holidays approach. One thing I am encouraging our staff to do this month that you can do at home is checking in with our students on how they are progressing towards goals they set at the beginning of the year.
Some questions you could ask your child/student are :
- What is something each week we can do as a family to help you reach your goal?
- What goals/accomplishments have you already achieved this school year? What did you do to accomplish that?
- What is a goal/accomplishment you haven't quite achieved yet? What are some things you can do to help you achieve those by the end of the semester?
Our staff and students will have the most successful school year possible if we continue to work together. I encourage you to join us in having high expectations for your child and finishing the semester strong.
GO HAWKS,
Ryan Huels
OES Principal

The week before break we will have a Holiday Spirit Week to celebrate the end of the semester. Grade levels may be doing various celebrations on that Friday 12/22 with specific information coming home from your child's teacher.
The holidays are always are great opportunity to show appreciation for our amazing staff. Even a simple note of appreciation thanking them for all they do for your child can go a long way.
