What Is Mescaline?
Mescaline is a hallucinogen found in the peyote cactus. Mescaline, better known as peyote, has been most commonly used in Native American rituals and spiritual conquests.
How is mescaline used?
Mescaline was originally used by Native Americans for spiritual experiences and religious ceremonies. Mescaline can be ingested in a powder-filled capsule, left in water to ferment and create an intoxicating substance, eaten when safely prepared or ground up and rolled into a cigarette or joint.
What are the physical and mental effects of mescaline?
Mescaline affects the brain in many ways, but this drug is a hallucinogen, so it causes hallucination. If mescaline is used too much, like any other hallucinogen, the user can develop a syndrome where they continue to hallucinate even after the drugs effects have worn off. Typically the effects of mescaline can last anywhere from 6 to 7 hours, in rare cases they can last up to 12.
Can you overdose on this drug? What makes this drug bad?
yes, although not immediately lethal, the drug can cause the user to experience the long term hallucination syndrome after the drug wears off. Users in this state can be sent into paranoia and become a danger to themselves and others. The drug was made illegal by the DEA and addicted users can find help in any drug prevention and support groups.
