Leopard Pride News

It's a great day to be a Leopard!

Edison students are on the hunt!

The annual Edison Easter egg hunt couldn't be dampened by the wet conditions on Thursday. The kindergarten and first grade students got a special treat by getting to hunt in the "grass" at the new multipurpose facility at the high school! Thank you to the fire department and FFA for helping “hide” the eggs!

Boys State Powerlifting!

The boys powerlifting team wrapped up the season this past weekend at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene Texas. We had 5 qualify to lift and 1 alternate for the state meet. The qualifiers were Leo Sustaita, Chon Hernandez, Asael Lagos, Wilson Tran, Miguel Rodriguez and Alternate Niko Fraire. The qualifiers had to finish in the top two of their weight class or hit the automatic qualifying total at the regional meet. The team finished 17th overall but only 2 points out of 1st place!

Coach: Cody Patterson

JW Foundation

The JW Foundation brought a tremendous program to GHS on Wednesday morning. Our GHS and GJH student athletes, along with seniors from all other Cooke County schools, heard words of inspiration from four college/professional athletes. On top of that, $6,235 in scholarships has been awarded by the foundation to GHS seniors this year!

Ag facility

Construction has officially started at the new GHS Agriculture facility! The new building will be located slightly southeast of the high school, just south of the current student/gym parking lot. Our continuously growing FFA program will be using this facility in the fall to house and care for their show animals.

Congratulations Q & U!

On Thursday, the kindergarten QUeens and QUarterbacks were invited to attend the wedding of Q&U! Every time a Q is found, the U will be right by its side! Check out our Edison facebook page to join in on the fun through videos and more pics of our celebration!
