AHES Panther News
2021 Connection: October 8, 2021
Anaheim Hills Elementary School
Panther Families,
Thank you parents for joining us for virtual Parent Teacher Conferences this week. I know our teachers enjoyed connecting with you and look forward to the continued partnership for the rest of the school year.
Due to an update in District guidance regarding PTA events this year, AHES PTA is able to offer a Trunk or Treat experience this year. The save the date can be found below.
Recently there have been Tik Tok challenges going around our nation related to schools. Last month's viral Tik Tok challenge was for students to vandalize their school and bathroom. This month's Tik Tok challenge encourages students to slap a teacher or a staff member. Sadly, schools around our nation have experienced students participating in October's challenge already. Parents, I kindly ask if you have a child that utilizes Tik Tok, or other social media platforms, that you please talk with them about these challenges and why it is important to not participate in them. Here is a parent resource regarding Tik Tok from Common Sense Media. We continue to conduct our digital citizenship lessons throughout our classrooms. We appreciate your support as we continue to keep AHES a safe place for students and staff.
Please see below for this week's updates. Have a great weekend!
Best,
Mrs. Van Wilgen Moore
Principal

Reflections - I Will Change the World By
The search for fabulous Panther Artists is underway! REFLECTIONS, a nationally sponsored PTA Arts competition wants to see your talent in Literature, Dance, Visual Arts, Film, and/or Photography.
The submission Deadline for our students is October 20. You can submit as many art pieces as you like! Make sure you relate your art to the theme this year, which is “I will change the world by…”
There will be prizes for all entries and awards given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners! All art submitted will be judged by local experts in that category. For our Panthers that win first place, your art will represent our school, competing with other wonders in our district!
The main PTA page that includes the entry form and detailed descriptions for each category are listed here:
