Notes for the Week
Notes for the Week:
No Guidance 11/23 and 11/24
11/30 - 12/4 is an Intermediate Guidance Week
- Each week I want to recognize the great things going on at Audubon. If you know someone who needs to be recognized, please let me know.
- It is that time of year where it is getting cold outside. Just a reminder that anytime the “Feel’s Like” temperature is 34 degrees or lower, students should not be going outside for recess or walking track time. If you have a morning where your team is on the walking track, you will need to closely monitor the temperature prior to going outside.
- Tis the Season: Please plan your Christmas Celebrations for Thursday, December 17th. Audubon PTO will provide cookies for students to decorate and eat on Friday, December 18th.
- During your PLC times, please be working on the pacing of Engage New York for the 2nd Semester. Your team’s pacing guide is due to me before you leave on December 18th.

Attitude of Gratitude
Can you believe that it is Thanksgiving time? Since Thanksgiving has turned into the starting line of the chaos of the Christmas Season, I often overlook the importance of this Holiday. For me Thanksgiving is a time of reflection; A time to focus on all of the blessings in my life.
I am truly blessed. I have a wife who loves me (most of the time), two healthy, handsome (I hear they look like their dad), and happy boys, a great family, and a great school family.
Audubon is a great blessing to me as well. Two years ago when I was working at Central Office, I truly realized how lucky I was to be a part of this school. The past year and half has been a roller coaster of fun that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I am very Thankful for each of you. Your love and dedication to your students is unmatched. Your passion for learning and growing push me to be a better educator. I am also thankful for our parents and students. Though some of them challenge us, those challenges pale in comparison to the opportunity to serve each of them for anything. We are fortunate to have the opportunities each day to impact the lives of over 530 students.
In this season of Thanksgiving, I hope you reflect on what you are grateful for. The video below discusses some of the benefits of being Thankful; It turns out an Attitude of Gratitude is beneficial to your well-being.
