Selfie Station

Students have the opportunity to take a selfie with their library books after their checkout. Pictures are posted outside the library on the bulletin board entitled Cook Kids Reading. Here are just a few great pictures students took.

Upcoming Reading Events

September 9-14, 2022 Scholastic Bookfair

8:00am-3:00pm for students; September 15 8:00am-12 noon.

September 9 Sign up for bookfair preview.

September 12: Grandparents will be welcomed to visit the bookfair with the grandchild from 7am-9am. We will also be open late that day til 5:30pm for parents and students.

September 15, 2022 International Dot Day. International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009. As a campus we will be reading The Dot, which is available on Epic. Dress up in dots that day. Teachers can register their classes or look for more resources at the link above.

October 17-21, 2022 Library Storywalk: This year we will be reading Salsa Una poema para cocinar/A Cooking Poem by Jorge Argueta.

October 20, 2022 Reading/Science Night (Save the date)

October 27, 2022 Read for the Record. Each year Read for the Record brings together millions of adults and children as they read the same book on the same day, building an intergenerational community through reading. This year's theme is DREAM BIG and we will be reading: Nigel and the Moon by Antwan Eady. Two books will be purchased for every grade level to share and read to your class.

Extended Library Hours for Parents and Students

The library is open afterschool to parents and students from 3:30-4pm from Mon.-Wed, and Friday. We are closed on Thursdays afterschool due to weekly faculty meetings. Parents will need to use the double door entrance on Escalon. Parents can checkout up to 5 books, read books with their child, and allow their child to take AR tests.

September is Library Card Sign Up Month

If you do not have a library card from the BiblioTech please sign up today online or in person. They will be here on October 20, 2022 for our Family Night from 5-6:30pm if you didn't get a chance yet to sign up.
