Thank you for another fabulous week with your kids!
Just like that, September is a wrap! This has been another awesome week at school which included a visit from the USBE literacy team. We were so excited to show them all that Bridge does to support literacy instruction. The tour included visits to all the learning pods, a tour of our curriculum room (a teacher favorite), a cursory review of our Google Drive and the plethora of curriculum our teachers have access to, and a look at our daily schedules that support personalized learning. We LOVE to show off our school but most importantly, to seek feedback from experts to help us improve our model to meet the needs of all students.
Mark you calendars for the following days of NO SCHOOL
- October 10 - 14 (Fall Break)
- November 21 - 25 (Thanksgiving Break)
Did you know that at the end of this newsletter is a WHO TO CONTACT list for names and the contact information of individuals responsible for specific areas at Bridge?
Please keep reading for more information about this past week and information for the upcoming week.
Enjoy the weekend!

Custodians & Restoom Monitor
At Bridge we are so lucky to have an AMAZING custodial team. Rena Oliver is our lead custodian, together with her crew, they keep things nice and clean and help with daily maintenance.
We now also have a restroom monitor, Sundari Nilsson. Sundari keeps a list of students using the restroom, ensures there are only three students in at a time, and also ensures the restroom is clean and vandalism-free. The lists are shared with Mrs. Rounds who looks them over to see if there are students whose names appear an excess number of times. Those names are shared with teachers who help determine if they are legitimate bathroom visits for legitimate bathroom needs, or if possibly, the student is using "I need to go to the bathroom" as an escape mechanism.
This addition to our staff has made a HUGE difference in not only the condition of the restrooms, but the number of times a student visits as well as the length of time they stay. This changes is a win-win for us - restrooms are cleaner, vandalism has been eliminated and kids are staying in class more increasing their instructional engagement.

Fall Shirt Order
When ordering you MUST put the name of your OLDEST Bridge student to ensure we know WHOM the shirts belong.
When ordering remember, youth sizes are preceded by "Y". A youth small is sized as "YS" while an adult small is sized as "S". We do not have the ability to switch these shirts if your order an incorrect size.

Personalized Learning Plans (PLP) and Parent Collaboration

Online Lunch Payments
When payments are made online we must complete several steps to get the payments moved to Aspire. We do this every Monday and Wednesday. After we run the online report it takes another day for the money to post to your student's Aspire account. Please allow 3 - 5 days from the day you make the online payment to the day the information posts in Aspire.
The link to make payments online is found on our website by selecting the MEALS icon.
Volunteers
- Cutting Watch Me Learn tickets (stop by the office)
- Pulling weeds in the rock areas and park strips (we have all the area in front of the school and up 4800 S along the school fence).
- Using rakes and shovels to redistribute the gravel from the bottom of the retention area in front of the school to the top area to cover the black landscape screen.

Once your family has logged 30 volunteer hours they will have a frog put into our Volunteer Pond in the foyer.
If you want to volunteer but do not have the time, you can donate $90 to cover the 30 hours. If you choose to donate, complete the volunteer form. You can donate in the office or by using our DONATE icon on the home page of our website.

Title I
Bridge Elementary receives our Title I funding based on the percentage of students that qualify for free or reduced lunch. For this reason we encourage ALL families to apply for Free/Reduced lunch through Aspire to ensure every single student receives the services needed, including access to free or reduced meals if appropriate.
Title I provides avenues for parent input and participation. We do this through our surveys and the link to the form on our website which allows parents to submit questions and suggestions.
You can find more information about Title I as well as a form to ask questions or provide suggestions regarding Title I, on our website at:
