Central Cambria School District

Welcome Back

Hello Jackson Elementary Families,

On behalf of myself and the Jackson Elementary School faculty and staff, I would like to take this opportunity to express our excitement for our students' return on Thursday, August 25th.

It is hard to believe that summer flew by and we are gearing up for another school year.

Our goals and objectives will remain the same as they have always been here at Jackson Elementary School. We will provide the most effective and meaningful educational experience for our students as possible. We want to create a learning environment in which students feel safe and comfortable, while preparing them for real-world experiences.

I believe we were able to accomplish those goals last school year with all the adversity we faced, and we have every intention to accomplish our goals again this year.

Please take a moment to read through the following newsletter as there are several important pieces of information regarding the upcoming school year.

If you have any questions regarding the upcoming school year, please do not hesitate to contact me via email at ddomonkos@cencam.org or by phone at 814-749-8421

It’s a great day to be a Red Devil!

Welcome Back Letter from Mr. Domonkos

JES Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up Info.

Jackson Elementary Families and Friends,

With the upcoming school year fastly approaching, we wanted to reach out and let you know about the various changes for Parent Drop-Off and Parent Pick-Up Lines. In the past, we’ve had an increase of Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up Students, therefore necessary changes have been made to ensure the safety of the students, family members, staff and faculty, etc.

MORNING DROP-OFF:

We ask that the Parent Drop-Off Line at Jackson Elementary School begin to form at 8:20am every morning, Monday – Friday. Please DO NOT drop-off your student(s) prior to 8:20; we are unable to allow students into the building until 8:20. This DOES NOT pertain to students who attend Learning Lamp in the mornings.

We also ask that parents drop their students off with their passenger door closest to the building. This will ensure that students can step directly onto the sidewalk when walking to the school entrance. Please see traffic pattern below.

We also ask that parent do not double park. This will also ensure safety for all students entering the building.

AFTERNOON PICK-UP:

As for Parent Pick-Up, we still ask that the Parent Pick-Up Line at Jackson Elementary School DOES NOT begin to form until after 3:20pm on Monday -- Friday. If we all can arrive at or a little after 3:20, the recess barriers will be removed and our parent pick-line can safely form in the back parking lot of JES. Our recess barriers will remain up until all Jackson Elementary Students have safely re-entered the building upon the completion of their recess time.

One significant change to the Parent Pick-Up Line is that there will be a drive-thru line in which we ask ALL cars to REMAIN in the line until it is their turn to move. Please DO NOT leave the drive-thru line once you have picked up your student(s); this only causes more confusion and unsafety for others in the pick-up line. If we can all wait patiently until the car in front of you moves forward, parent pick-up will be able to run more safely and efficiently.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
