Lead Learner's Message
Goooooood evening #BroncoStrong faculty and staff! I hope you had a terrific Thursday!
On 11/15, Mr. Moore, Mrs. Schkade and Ms. Adams took 115 of our students to Abilene for the World of Work Youth Expo held in the Abilene Convention Center. The W.O.W. Expo was sponsored by the Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas. The expo had over 100 interactive exhibits from a variety of career clusters including, but not limited to business/industry, robotics, votech, and culinary. Thanks to the educators who made this experience possible for our kiddos!
Don't forget - after Thanksgiving we will have UIL during Team Time and the week after that we will begin math interventions, so the lists will be adjusted and posted. Please remind kids to look at the lists to find out where they need to be. Thanks for all each of you do for our kids! Now, get out there, ignite your shine and keep building BETTER BRONCOS!

The Why Behind RTI
Schools that are committed to creating an environment which fosters learning for ALL students have systems of interventions that require not only a collective effort, but also a coordinated one. As educators we know some students will not choose to take advantage of voluntary additional support because they may lack maturity, self-motivation, a support system, or the vision of what is necessary to succeed. Research shows, success or failure in school is life altering. As a campus, let's decide that deciding not to learn is NOT an option. As educators, let's make sure that when interventions are necessary, they are directive nature. With that said, why RTI?
- It insures struggling students have additional time and support for learning.
- A school with systematic RTI has staff members who work collaboratively and take COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY for the success of each student in their building.
- Systematic RTI creates an environment where students will NOT miss new essential core instruction to get extra help.
- Flexible time for interventions should not come at the cost of students who don't require extra help. (Thus the reason for Genius Hour and Club Time)
- Schools with systematic RTI have help embedded during the school day, when students are required to be at school and all staff members are available to assist.
- The devil is in the details when it comes to authentic interventions. We must move beyond a study hall approach and actually provide targeted instruction that addresses the interventions a student needs in relation to mastery of the standards.
- School improvement is not the result of a purchased intervention "program"; rather it is happens when schools focus on an ongoing , collaborative process of improvement.
