Principal's Message - 4th Graders Strike it Rich at Coloma Days
For many years, our fourth grade classes have attended the Coloma Outdoor Discovery School as a culmination of their California studies. Unfortunately, this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, this group could not take part in this three day adventure.
For this week's message, I would like to publicly appreciate our fourth grade teachers and the Pinewood Parent Teacher Club for coordinating Coloma Days here on campus. For two days these students went through Gold Rush Stations. It was a joy to watch our kids take part in many activities including: gold panning, making cornbread and butter, square dancing, playing hoop and lance, and building a shelter.
I am grateful our fourth graders had this opportunity to celebrate a year of hard work! Coloma Days allowed them to experience much of what they learned in social studies while having fun with their friends.
Eureka!
