Diabetes refers to a group of diseases that affect how your body uses blood glucose, or as it is more commonly known, blood sugar.
Causes & Complications
Causes:
- your immune system attacks and destroys your insulin producing cells in the pancreas.
- This leaves you little or no insulin, therefore sugar builds up.
- Cardiovascular Disease
- Nerve damage
- Kidney damage
- Eye damage
- Foot damage
- Osteoporosis
- Alzheimer's
- Cancer
