The Invisible Population

Help Stop The Spread Of Invisibility!
Invisibility is spreading all over the world. If we don't act now, things will only get worse. How many people have to become homeless for us to finally realize that things aren't going to get better without us taking action?
Homeless Children
One in 30 children is homeless, which makes a total of 2.5 million around the country. But these kids are often invisible, crashing at different places throughout the week (Child Homelessness). Since these people are staying in different places all the time, many people don't realize they exist.
Homeless People
In this video, family members went out on the street and posed as homeless people to see if anyone noticed their closest friends and family. No one did (Homeless Becoming Invisible). This shows how homeless people have become part of the invisible population, because no one notices them. This also shows how your appearance can change the way people think of you, even if you have a nice personality.
School Popularity
According to Andrew Clements, Bobby knows one of the popular girls named Jessica from his honors biology class. But she doesn't know him (71). This shows that Bobby is invisible to the popular kids at school because even though they are in the same class, Jessica doesn't even know who he is. They are just judging him based on his looks and social status instead of his personality.
Conclusion
Why are we letting this happen? With just doing a few simple tasks such as helping someone out, we can put a smile on someones's face. Give someone a helping hand today!
