February's Team Bonding Opportunity

To build a team we must first build a family. Join us in welcoming our new family members on February 8th. I would like it if each football team member could be at Liberty at 5:45 pm dressed in Liberty spirit wear (football spirit wear if available). We will be meeting potential members of your team. My expectation is that we clearly communicate our goals, priorities, and expectations of what it takes to be a member of Eagles Kingdom. As a team, we will be giving tours, showing off our weight rooms, and speaking to players about coming up to lift with us. We will work to have a Summer schedule to present to the incoming freshmen as they become members of our family first and then our team!

The Student Athlete

Have you checked your grades lately? We have started a new semester and if you are struggling or finding yourself behind NOW is the time to make corrections. Need help getting organized, coming up with a study plan, or creating goals? Seek out a coach! We are here to help every STUDENT-athlete. In addition, for college-bound athletes, the NCAA has a plethora of information for you to review. If you have questions regarding this information please contact our College and Career Counselor (michellegerringer@wsdr4.org). Below are some recommendations for all students who may need extra help in a particular area.

  • 1. Meet with the teacher before or after school. Even 10 minutes every day adds up to an extra 50 minutes of learning for the student each week. Many times, it is a one-to-one ratio with the teacher during these times.

    2. Attend Afterschool Academic Assist in the library from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday.

    3. Get a pass to a class you are struggling with and visit Wednesday during the Academic Intervention period.

    4. Email your teacher to ask specific questions about assignments that you are struggling to complete.

  • NCAA Qualifications

  • MSHAA Requirements

If you are struggling, PLEASE reach out to Coach McMillen or another coach. We are here to help you and want you to succeed.
