Ms. Bonnie Pollock
6th Grade ILA Teacher
A Little About Me
My name is Bonnie Pollock and I am very excited to be joining the Scoggins family as a sixth grade ILA teacher this year. Over the summer I moved cross country from Bloomington, Illinois, where I had lived since 1999, to Frisco. My parents moved to the area in the fall of 2013, and I am very excited for the opportunity to spend more time with them.
I double majored in Elementary Education and Spanish at Illinois State University. During my time at ISU I studied for a semester in Granada, Spain. Additionally, I graduated from Illinois State with my Master's in Teaching and Learning this May.
This school year will be my fourth year as a sixth grade teacher. For the past three school years I worked in a self-contained sixth grade classroom in LeRoy, Illinois, where I was responsible for teaching my students all core content areas. Seeing as I have a passion for both reading and writing, I am very excited to get to spend each day teaching ILA at Scoggins Middle School.
In my free time I particularly enjoy reading and consider myself an extremely crafty individual. Over the past few years I have been learning how to sew. This process is more time consuming than I had anticipated, but I find it very enjoyable. I also love to travel and have traveled extensively throughout Europe.
I have one sibling, Holly, who just graduated from Missouri Western State University. She played volleyball there her first three years and in her fourth year completed a full year internship at a Kansas City hospital as part of her study of Medical Laboratory Science.
